Thai massage sessions with Michael

Gift yourself a moment to fully relax and create space for more ease, balance and alignment in your daily life.

Two aspects that are central to my Thai massage practice: Relaxation and Deep Listening

. Relaxation as a necessary prerequisite to create the right conditions for the organism to find balance. Many people are afraid that Thai massage is painful, but this depends mostly on the practitioner's sensitivity, as in any other type of massage. I strongly believe pain is not the way to help, but deep relaxation and gentleness are.

. Deep listening to adapt the massage to the receiver's need: the receiver's body gives near infinite information while being massaged. It is like a symphony being played! By being fully present and listening carefully, I strive to find where I can bring focus and help, and in which way. No two massages are the same: I adapt the techniques, angles and intensity to what I feels right for the receiver at the given moment.

What is Thai massage?

Thai massage is a holistic approach aiming at bringing harmony and balancing the whole body, as well as the nervous system and the mind. It is practised fully clothed on a floor mat, and makes use of deep pressure, assisted stretches, and rocking motions.

These techniques aim to create the space for the body and mind to heal themselves. As tensions and restrictions are removed, the organism may find opportunities to replace them with new pathways that might be freer, more efficient and relaxed. The massage acts as a way to reestablish and enhance the body's homeostatic's properties: the capacity to auto-regulate and maintain inner balance.

The Thai massage sessions I offer:
  • Where? I offer sessions both in my practice space or in the comfort of your home.

  • How long? For optimal results the sessions are 2 to 2.5 hours. Very deep work could last up to 3 hours, and shorter sessions of 90 minutes can still bring interesting benefits. Do not worry about finding it too long: time always flies really fast during a Thai massage!

I do not advise 60 minutes sessions, though I know they are the industry standard, because change requires time and deep relaxation in order to happen. Relaxation benefits and a general sense of well-being can however be achieved in that time, and I can offer it upon request.
